Gigabyte launches flagship X870E AORUS XTREME X3D AI TOP motherboard at $1099

Inside, Gigabyte’s flexing with PCIe 5.0 support everywhere and more power phases than most people have RGB fans. You’ve got wild RAM speeds, WiFi 7, Thunderbolt (well, the AMD flavor of it), and a cooling setup that even your fridge might envy. The board is designed for AMD’s hottest (literally and figuratively) new X3D chips, so if you’re still on DDR4, you can keep scrolling. They’re pushing this thing for high-end gaming and all the AI nonsense AMD’s been selling these days.
But come on. Twelve hundred dollars for a motherboard? Even with stacked VRMs and fancy heatpipes, that’s a punch in the gut for regular enthusiasts. And the ‘AI’ stuff? If you actually want AI features, you’ll do better with a GPU or, you know, an actual NPU. Plus, the board is built like a tank; if you drop it, your floor is doomed. The only extra thing it’s missing is RGB on the POST code.
Honestly, unless you’re benching next-gen Ryzen X3D CPUs with three GPUs or building a PC for your pet robot, this isn’t for you. Most people in the UAE will probably never see one of these out in the wild unless they’re haunting high-end showrooms or YouTube unboxings. Gigabyte’s obviously flexing for spec-heads and competitive overclockers, not for ‘I just want to play FIFA’ folks.
So if you’ve got more cash than sense and want to flex your build at the next LAN party, sure, keep an eye out. You might see this hitting shelves at retailers like Datcart soon. But be prepared to remortgage your apartment—and good luck explaining that to your family at iftar.
